Amazon.com Review From Cuisinart's Chef's Classic series comes this handsome, durable cookware with triple-layer construction. The exterior is hard-anodized aluminum, which is even stronger than stainless steel, with an encapsulated pure aluminum core for quick, even heating. The interiors of the pots and pans feature Cuisinart's Quantanium nonstick finish, a high-quality, long-lasting finish internally reinforced with titanium. Little oil or butter is needed when cooking on this ultra-smooth surface, and low to medium heat is recommended, along with non-metal utensils. All the lids are break-resistant glass, and handles are pure stainless steel, riveted for strength. Every piece is oven-safe to 500 degrees F. Cuisinart puts together all the most commonly used pots and pans in this comprehensive 17-piece set. Three covered saucepans hold 1-1/2, 2, and 3 quarts, perfect for those everyday tasks such as warming soup, cooking rice, or steaming vegetables. The 8- and 10-inch skillets slide out perfect French toast and pancakes, not to mention eggs over easy with bacon. Use the covered 12-inch skillet or 4-quart covered sauté pan, both with helper handles, for stir-fried vegetables, sautéed seafood, or braised beef. The covered 9-quart stockpot is perfect for big batches of chili and hearty soups. Two bonus items are the all-purpose covered steamer and deeper pasta insert that fit the stockpot and do away with having to use a colander for draining. Cleanup is easy, just a quick wash by hand takes care of any food residue. Nonstick, hard-anodized cookware is best kept out of the dishwasher. Cuisinart covers this gift-worthy cookware set with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 17-piece cookware set. Great cookware, heats fast, easy to clean August 26, 2010 M. A. Wells (Tampa, FL) This is a solid, dependable and attractive set of cookware. I found the pieces to be easy to clean and to heat quickly and evenly. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I did a lot of online research before buying, and I am glad I picked this set.
Good Set, Great Pieces, Nice Price August 18, 2010 Busy Momma (USA) I love all the pieces this set comes with. The non-stick coating is great. I have a large family, so I use these on a daily basis. Glass lids are a must! I only gave four stars because the handles are a little too thin and not balanced well with the weight of the pot. Most have a helper handle on the opposite side, so it's manageable. But if they were rounded, instead of scooped, it would be better. I also wish there were another size in between the 9qt and smaller pans, and that it could be shorter and wider, instead of just tall. All in all, I'm pleased with this set and the price.
Cuisinart Cookware Set August 8, 2010 G. Tindall (pa) We purchased this cookware set several weeks ago. We looked and evaluated all the different manufactures and models. After using this set for a while we came to the conclusion that we made the right decision. These set is great. There maybe better or more expensive cookware, but I just can't understand what else you could expect from a cookware set. The handles stay cool as long as you don't leave the burner on high for a long time, which isn't necessary unless you don't know how to cook. The lids get warm to hot depending on how long the lid is on and at what temperature, but it is within reason. I enjoy being able to see what stage the food is without removing the lid, so I can adjust. It is also nice there is a lid for every pan or skillet, which is not the case with more expensive sets. We are more than satisfied with this purchase and hope this review was helpful.
A Review, 3 Years Later! July 10, 2010 James M. Kinloch (Seattle, WA United States) I've now had this set just over 3 years, along with other pieces I've added. I must say that I really love this cookware, and use it all the time. Heats fast, cleans up easy, looks great and so far so good after 3 years of use! I have had to replace 3 pieces due to friends using metal utensils, and one friend putting my 4-quart in the dishwasher (ruined!), but as long as you hand wash and use wood or plastic utensils, they hold up really well. I expect this set to last another 3 years, at least. Highly recommend, but take care of them!
Happy with the Purchase April 22, 2010 Bob (Texas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very easy to clean up. I have not cooked anything yet that has stuck to the pan. Good weight. Good looks.
My only cons are the handles are to long for my taste. It just means they take up more room in the dishwasher. Also, there is a bolt head inside the pan where the handle connects. This just creats a spot for food to get stuck on.
